Go Pokes!

The Talley nuclear family got to sit together at the K-State game. It was so much fun that I am still hoarse 3 days after the game. WHOO HOO GO POKES. Bring on the Red Raiders. Pistols firing. Safe travels to dirty Lubbock Mom and Dad---be sure to duck from the fans that throw tortillas at the opposing teams visitors!

Trunk or Treat with Crossroads group

too much fun...I was a nerd (haha), Ellie was a bandmember, Bryan a graduate, Allysa a teacher, Ashley a chalkboard, Maggie a Bball player (go Knights!), Kim a cool kid, and Sarah a crossing guard. I made kids answer questions before I gave them candy...I'm a little mean.

The Greatest Commandment

My cousins---aka The VonTrap Family Singers---sang this at Papa's Celebration Memorial this past weekend and I can't get it out of my head! So I'm sharing with anyone and everyone. It's call The Greatest Commandment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSH4GRcO6ag&feature=related

Since everything in my life can be related to either a Broadway musical or Biblical scripture, I'll add for today Jean Valjean's line from Les Miserables "to love another person is to see the face of God." My grandparents were married for 61 years August 13th---the day Papa Max came home from the hospital to die. SIXTY-ONE years. It literally boggles my mind. I was glad I was able to hold Grannie's hand when she said goodbye for the last time.

I am so grateful for family. The Talley family song...For all that you've done I will thank you, for all that you're going to do, For all that you've promised and All that you are, is All that has carried me through, Jesus I thank you.

Divine Providence

Since becoming Presbyterians earlier in the year (after many years of being a Baptist and Methodist :) ) In my pre-Presbyterian life I used to call seeing God in my life as a "God-incident"...no longer...I shall now refer to it as divine providence! It's been interesting to learn the different jargon that goes along with this flavor of Christianity. I really like the thought of divine providence. 1. It sounds awe-inspiring and 2. the thought of "God's hand in and throughout my life" is pretty incredible. It's more than kismet or karma it is truly divine providence that we are here, able to do so many different things, and be apart of so many wonderful people's lives. Here's too starting a new job tomorrow through a little bit of divine providence and talking to the ceiling about seeing some of it in your life.

And now after sharing hopefully I can get a little sleep before showing up at the Capitol tomorrow for work. Go fight win.
